A skilled lip reader has uncovered a sharp two-word remark that Donald Trump allegedly directed at Joe Biden during the inauguration ceremony.
On January 20, Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, securing his second term in office under the Republican Party. Due to freezing weather, the ceremony was held inside the Capitol Rotunda, deviating from the usual outdoor stage at the U.S. Capitol.
Before the ceremony, Biden and his wife, Jill, welcomed Trump and Melania to the White House as part of the customary transfer of power. Lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman analyzed the brief interaction captured during a photo opportunity. According to Freeman, Biden greeted Trump with a warm “Welcome home,” to which Trump responded with a complaint about the cold and a joke about skiing. When Biden agreed, Trump reportedly teased him with a playful “Shut up, Biden,” before commenting on the temperature. Biden then signaled his intention to head inside by saying, “It’s hello.”
