A family in Jardim das Américas is mourning the loss of a two-month-old baby following an overnight incident that authorities are continuing to investigate.
According to preliminary information, the child had been in the care of his father when the incident occurred. Reports indicate that the father, who was said to be extremely tired, had been holding the infant before falling asleep. Emergency services were later called to the residence.
Medical responders from SAMU attended the scene, but the child could not be revived.
The loss has left the family facing an extremely difficult period as authorities work to establish a clear understanding of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
