Michael J. Fox has spent much of his life in the public eye, first as a successful actor and later as one of the most recognizable advocates for Parkinson’s disease research. Away from Hollywood, however, family has remained an important part of his life.
Fox and his wife, actress Tracy Pollan, have four children: their son Sam, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, and their youngest daughter, Esmé.
Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 29, when he was still a young actor and a father to a small child. The diagnosis changed many aspects of his life, but he continued working while becoming increasingly involved in raising awareness about Parkinson’s and supporting research.
Over the years, Fox and Pollan have generally kept their children away from the spotlight. Their children have largely pursued lives of their own rather than becoming regular fixtures in entertainment news.
