Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen during completely ordinary days.
There was nothing unusual about the afternoon I visited the grocery store. People were moving through the aisles, selecting their groceries, waiting in line, and going about their routines.
Then I noticed a young girl standing near the checkout.
She was holding a birthday cake carefully in her hands. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But as the line moved forward, I noticed that she seemed increasingly nervous.
When it was finally her turn to pay, she looked through her money and realized she was short.
Her expression immediately changed.
