My marriage to Dan lasted for eight years and in those years, we built a life together, including a beautiful home and two amazing children. I thought we had a strong bond, but I soon discovered that I was the only one valuing our union. It all came crashing down when I found out about his affair.
It was a regular night when I stumbled upon his phone while searching for medicine for our daughter Emma. A notification caught my eye and as I unlocked the phone, my heart broke reading intimate messages between Dan and a woman named Jessica. I confronted him, trembling and heartbroken, asking how he could do this after eight years of marriage. But he simply shrugged and said it was just a harmless fling with his secretary.
