Trump’s presidency has already sparked widespread attention, both for his policy decisions and his interactions. Shortly after taking office, he signed a series of executive orders overturning several of Biden’s key policies. He withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, reinstated Arctic oil drilling, and declared that there are only two genders – male and female – as official U.S. policy. Trump even proposed renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and reversing Alaska’s Denali back to Mount McKinley, which was originally changed by President Barack Obama in 2015.
In his inaugural address, Trump emphasized his commitment to reshaping national policies, declaring, “From this day forward, it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.” He also granted pardons or commutations to over 1,500 individuals charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Amidst his flurry of executive actions, Trump reportedly discovered a farewell letter from Biden in the Oval Office, but only after being reminded by a journalist to check for it.
