Beandri Booysen, South African Teen With Progeria, Dies at 19

Beandri Booysen, a young woman from South Africa whose life inspired thousands around the world, has died at the age of 19, just days before Christmas. Despite living with an extremely rare genetic condition, Beandri became known for her positivity, resilience, and unwavering message of self-love.

Born with Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome, Beandri was diagnosed at just seven months old. The condition, which causes accelerated aging, affects only a few hundred people worldwide. Doctors initially believed she would not live beyond her early teenage years, but Beandri surpassed expectations, embracing life with determination and joy.
