Australian actress Rachael Carpani, best known for her roles in McLeod’s Daughters and NCIS: Los Angeles, has passed away at the age of 45, her family has confirmed. The actress died unexpectedly but peacefully following a long battle with a chronic illness.
The heartbreaking news was shared on Monday, December 15, by Carpani’s sister, Georgia, who released a statement on behalf of the“It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness in the early hours of Sunday, December 7,” the statement read.
The family added that a private funeral will be held on Friday, December 19, attended only by close family and friends, and requested privacy as they grieve.
A Career Spanning Australia and Hollywood
Born in Sydney, Rachael Carpani rose to prominence as Jodi Fountain on the long-running Australian drama McLeod’s Daughters, appearing on the series from 2001 to 2009. Her performance made her a fan favorite and cemented her place in Australian television history.
She later transitioned to U.S. television and film, earning credits in NCIS: Los Angeles, Against the Wall, If There Be Thorns, and The Glades. In 2009, she also appeared alongside Liam Hemsworth in the thriller Triangle.
