Former President Donald Trump sparked headlines on Friday, January 9, when he accidentally read aloud a private note intended only for him during a press event at the White House. The moment occurred as Trump was speaking with oil and gas industry leaders about Venezuela’s oil reserves and potential investment opportunities in the region.
During the meeting, Secretary of State Marco Rubio discreetly slipped Trump a handwritten note. Trump announced, “Marco just gave me a note,” and proceeded to read it aloud: “Go back to Chevron. They want to discuss something.” Rather than keeping the instruction private, Trump repeated it to the room of journalists and executives before saying, “Go ahead, I’m going back to Chevron. Thank you, Marco.”
