Millions of people across the United States took to the streets on Saturday for a coordinated series of demonstrations known as “No Kings.” The movement emerged in response to what critics describe as former President Donald Trump’s growing concentration of political authority, though the protests varied widely in tone and focus across different cities.

Organized by a broad coalition of civic organizations, student groups, and veterans, the demonstrations stretched from coast to coast. Most events remained peaceful, though authorities reported isolated incidents of unrest. The rallies took place amid heightened national tension, following recent acts of political violence in Minnesota and the federal deployment of troops in Los Angeles to maintain order after earlier protests.
