Now that they are 13 years old: Here’s how the world’s first surviving octopus and their mother appear today

The story of Nadya Suleman, famously known as “Octomom,” and her octuplets has been a remarkable journey of resilience, love, and adaptation. On January 26, 2022, the world celebrated the 13th birthday of these famous siblings, marking over a decade since their headline-making birth in 2009.

A Record-Breaking Birth
The octuplets—six boys and two girls—were delivered via cesarean section and instantly became international news as one of the rarest and most well-documented cases of surviving octuplets. At the time of their birth, Nadya Suleman, then 34, was already the single mother of six children conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). She raised all 14 children without a father figure, facing both admiration and criticism from the public.
