What began as a severe thunderstorm quickly escalated into a powerful weather event that locals say ranks among the most intense storms they have ever witnessed.
As dark clouds gathered Tuesday evening, few expected what would follow.
Within minutes, enormous hailstones began falling from the sky, striking rooftops, vehicles, trees, and windows with incredible force. Witnesses described hearing loud crashes and continuous pounding sounds as chunks of ice battered the community.
Many residents reported hailstones reaching the size of baseballs, causing immediate damage wherever they landed.
“It sounded like rocks hitting the house,” one resident recalled. “I’ve lived here for years and never seen anything like it.”
The storm moved rapidly across the area, blanketing streets, lawns, and driveways in layers of ice. For a brief period, the town appeared covered in snow despite the season, creating a surreal landscape that left many people staring in disbelief.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched as reports of damage began flooding local agencies.
Authorities received numerous calls involving shattered windows, damaged siding, dented vehicles, fallen tree branches, and power outages. Some homeowners discovered significant roof damage after the storm passed, while several roadways became difficult to navigate due to accumulated hail and debris.
