Most drivers are familiar with red and blue emergency lights used by police, fire departments, and ambulance services. But occasionally, motorists encounter vehicles displaying flashing green lights and wonder what they signify.
The answer may surprise you.
In many areas, green warning lights are used by certain authorized service vehicles to increase visibility and alert other road users to their presence. While these vehicles may be performing important community functions, they are generally not responding to emergencies in the same way as traditional emergency services.
