For months, I worked extra weekends so my 13-year-old daughter, Mia, could attend the summer camp she had dreamed about since she was ten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She had spent years looking at pictures of the lake, horses, cabins, hiking trails, and activities online. She knew the camp almost by heart before she ever set foot there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three weeks at camp cost more than our monthly mortgage. To make it happen, I picked up four additional Saturdays, rearranged family dinners, and postponed buying things I needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
