A sealed package of bacon appeared to be an ordinary grocery purchase until a shopper opened it at home and noticed something unusual among the slices.
The package had been refrigerated and appeared intact when it was purchased. While preparing breakfast, however, the shopper noticed a pale, rubbery-looking piece of material that appeared different from the surrounding bacon.
At first, it was unclear whether the material was simply an unusual piece of fat or connective tissue. Because its appearance was unexpected, the shopper decided not to continue cooking the product.
