Elira had expected her visit to her grandmother’s countryside home to be peaceful and uneventful.
At 26, she was looking forward to spending some quiet time with family and taking a break from the changes and responsibilities in her own life. The familiar surroundings of her grandmother’s farm had always given her a sense of comfort.
The property was home to several animals, including chickens, a goat, and a large brown cow named Dara.
Elira had seen Dara many times before, and her grandmother had always reminded her to be cautious around livestock. Even animals that appear calm can sometimes react unexpectedly when they feel uncomfortable, frightened, or threatened.
