Some of the moments that stay with us the longest are not connected to major events. Sometimes, a simple interaction during an ordinary day can leave a lasting impression.
One afternoon, I stopped at a grocery store to pick up a few things. The store was busy but otherwise typical. Shoppers moved through the aisles, employees helped customers, and people waited patiently at the checkout.
Then I noticed a young girl standing in one of the checkout lines.

The girl was carefully holding a birthday cake. She appeared to be trying her best to keep it steady as the line slowly moved forward.
