Sources allege that Bongani blew through R400,000 in royalties from his late mother, Brenda Fassie, in just two months.

An anonymous insider claimed that Chicco Twala, Brenda Fassie’s former producer, arranged multiple royalty payments for Bongani—including an R80,000 payout to cover overdue rent. Additionally, Chicco reportedly facilitated another R100,000 payment through a royalty distribution company.

Despite these financial lifelines, Bongani allegedly struggled to keep up with his expenses.

In other music news, Fifi Cooper’s former Ambitiouz Entertainment labelmate, Emtee, is celebrating success alongside Big Zulu.

The duo recently released their collaborative track Abazali Bafunani (also known as 21 Questions), which has been well-received by fans.

The song came to life after Emtee and Big Zulu ended their long-standing feud and decided to hit the studio together.
