What started as an ordinary walk with my dog quickly became an unexpected mystery.
We were following our usual route when my dog suddenly stopped and became intensely interested in a patch of leaves beside the path. He sniffed the ground repeatedly, circled the area, and then began digging.
At first, I assumed he’d found nothing more interesting than a buried stick.
Then he uncovered something much larger.
