“Wait… what does it say?”
The third convict smiled.
“It says they can be used for swimming, horseback riding, and other activities.”
The other two stared at him.
“Okay… but we’re going to prison. There’s no swimming, no horseback riding, and definitely no vacations.”
The third convict shrugged.
“Exactly.”
He put the box back in his bag and grinned.
“Looks like I’m the only one who brought something useful.”
The other two burst out laughing.
“How is that useful?”
He smiled.
“Because if the box says I can do all those things, then clearly I have a lot more options than you two.”
The bus filled with laughter as the three prisoners realized that sometimes the best way to handle a difficult situation is with a little creativity and a good sense of humor.
And from that day on, they always remembered one lesson:
A clever mind can find possibilities in the strangest places.
