“Mrs. Haskins,” Officer Ramsey said, his voice calm, “before anyone says another word, I’d like to see exactly what happened.”
Beverly’s confidence disappeared almost instantly.
She looked from the officer to the camera above the patio door.
Then she looked at me.
“There’s no need for that,” she said.
Officer Walker raised an eyebrow. “No need?”
“It was a misunderstanding.”
