When little Mira was born, her parents were expecting the ordinary emotions that come with welcoming a new baby—joy, relief, and excitement about the future.
Instead, the delivery room became unusually quiet.
Mira was born with significant skin abnormalities. Her skin appeared extremely fragile, with areas that were dry, cracked, and peeling. Her parents were immediately surrounded by doctors and nurses who carefully examined her and explained that she would need specialized medical care.
