The idea that a married person becomes unfaithful simply because their spouse no longer provides something they want is a common theme on social media. While such statements may attract attention, they oversimplify the reasons relationships experience difficulties.

Marriage and long-term relationships are influenced by many factors, including communication, emotional connection, stress, personal expectations, changing responsibilities, and how partners respond to conflict. Emotional Distance Can Develop Gradually

In some relationships, emotional distance develops slowly rather than following one major disagreement. Busy schedules, financial concerns, parenting responsibilities, work pressure, and unresolved conflicts can gradually reduce the amount of meaningful time couples spend together.
