19-Year-Old Sentenced to Six Months in Jail After Driving 100 MPH in Crash That Killed Two People

A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to charges connected to a high-speed crash in Charlotte, North Carolina, that killed two people and seriously injured a 12-year-old girl in December 2025.

Jason Anthony Scott appeared in court Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. The charges stem from a deadly collision that occurred on Dec. 27, 2025, at the intersection of Ardrey Kell Road and Red Rust Lane.

According to court documents, Scott will serve six months in jail, followed by three years of probation. His driving privileges will also be revoked, and he is required to provide a DNA sample as part of his sentence.

Although Scott was initially sentenced to serve at least two years and seven months in jail, Judge Matthew Osman suspended that sentence, court documents stated. As a result, Scott will serve the shorter six-month jail term under the conditions outlined by the court.
