My Husband Demanded a Paternity Test—Then the Results Exposed a Bigger Family Secret
Five weeks after giving birth to our daughter, Sarah, my husband looked at her blonde hair and blue eyes and asked a question that shattered me.
“Are you sure she’s mine?”
Alex and I both had brown hair and eyes, but I explained that newborn features often change.
He still demanded a paternity test.
“If you refuse, I don’t think we can continue this marriage,” he said.
I agreed because I had nothing to hide.
Then Alex left me alone with our newborn and moved into his parents’ home while we waited for the results.
My sister Emily came every day to help while I recovered from childbirth.
A week later, Alex’s mother called.
“If that baby isn’t my son’s,” she warned, “I’ll make sure you leave this marriage with nothing.”
I was stunned.
Sarah was Alex’s child, yet his entire family had already decided I was guilty.
When the results finally arrived, Alex came home and opened the envelope.
The test confirmed exactly what I had always known.
He was Sarah’s biological father.
“I told you,” I said.
Instead of apologizing, he became defensive.
“This was difficult for me too.”
“Difficult for you?” I replied. “You abandoned me after childbirth, accused me of cheating, and let your mother threaten me.”
Alex looked confused.
“What threats?”
When I explained the phone call, his anger disappeared.
He claimed he never knew his mother had contacted me.
Then Emily entered the room.
“Tell her the rest,” she said.
Alex froze.
I looked between them.
“What rest?”
